About Redeemer Baptist Church of Plano
One body in Christ, rooted in our Vietnamese heritage.
RBCP is a fellowship of born again followers of Christ, called by God, and empowered by the Holy Spirit to be the testimony of God’s grace, the presence of Christ, and the temple of the Holy Spirit in the world.
We seek God’s glory through worship, love, faith and truth. We come together as one body in Christ, crossing every bridge of nationality, while our mission is founded on our Vietnamese roots. Our faith is in Christ. We use the Bible to equip God’s people with the Word and encouragement, and to teach about God’s love and grace for all people.

Our mission
A community of Kingdom believers
Our mission is to build a community of Kingdom believers for evangelizing, equipping and ministering to Vietnamese-Americans in Plano and beyond.
Restore
the lost to God through Christ Jesus.
Renew
the saints through the study of the Holy Scripture and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Reach
the lost for the Kingdom of Christ, as we equip disciples to go.
Our vision
The church we pray to be
-
1
A church for Vietnamese and Asian-American generations
Beginning at Jerusalem and moving out (Acts 1:8). We celebrate both Vietnamese and American cultural holidays. As Peter ministered to the Jews and Paul to the Gentiles (Galatians 2:7), each generation is reached in its own way.
-
2
A church where families worship and serve together
With Bible study groups in both languages. We may hold separate services, or joint services with bilingual praise and sermons, as in the early church, where Hebrews and Greeks shared one church but were ministered to by those who knew their cultures (Acts 6:1–7).
-
3
A church that grows through discipleship and mission
Small-group discipleship, an evangelistic lifestyle and mission involvement: pray, send and go.
-
4
A church that works with others
Taking part in the Vietnamese local church network and denominational projects, including the Vietnamese Mission Board (VMB), the Vietnamese Baptist Theological School (VBTS) and the Vietnamese Baptist Fellowship.
-
5
A church that plants churches
Especially English-speaking Vietnamese and Asian-American churches.

-
2016
Two churches, one vision
Working closely together, the two pastors saw that Plano had come from Richardson and shared its vision of Kingdom expansion; the churches were less than two miles apart; and the pastors worked well together in missions and local ministry. Both churches were self-sufficient, but duplicating ministries strained their finances and people. It was natural to come together and move in the same direction.
-
2018
Praying together
With the inspired leadership of Dr. John Nguyen, the pastors and key leaders of both churches prayerfully considered joining forces, to reduce duplicated effort and strengthen their focus for better service.
-
Nov 11, 2018
The vote
Both churches voted to merge in January 2019.
-
2019
Redeemer Baptist Church of Plano
A new church began with the Kingdom vision and the desire to see unity yield a stronger church, make more impact and better glorify God. Please pray for us.
